If you take the time to carefully scroll through your feed on any social media platform (yes, including LinkedIn), you’ll likely notice a pattern.

Most people gravitate to topics that have a certain universal appeal.

Everything from the latest celebrity-promoted products to exotic destinations in Tulum or Santorini or the newest health craze, these subjects get tons of likes and follows.

It's why they're a focus for many in the influencer space.

Remember the popular kids in high school?

(You may have been one too.)

They had the trendiest shoes and the latest tech. Like today’s influencers, they were in the spotlight, not just because they had style, but because they were echoing what was hot.

Everyone watched them to see what trend to follow next.

However, in the thought leadership space, YOU have to get comfortable sharing new and unfamiliar ideas in your space.

It will seem weird to some.

But for your people, it will be completely game-changing.

Your perspective, philosophy, and prescriptions you have for life... carry weight.

They're meant to last and not just trend for the moment and fizzle out.

That's why you must understand the different messaging models in the online space.

Because if you are using the wrong model, you will always come up short.

That's why I wrote this guide.

As a consultant, your road to success and thriving online is different.

And once you learn how to effectively navigate it, you will see things take off in a way that you could only previously imagine.

Ever felt like you’re in a never-ending episode of "Who's Got the Most Followers?" 📺

I mean, the dopamine hit from likes and comments is real, right?

Likes, retweets, follows—it's easy to get caught up in the digital popularity contest.

I mean, who doesn’t get a little buzz from those notifications? 📲

But in all honesty, that doesn't really matter. It’s not always about how many are watching; it's about who is genuinely tuning in.

This is what I mean...

You can post a fab pic of your morning coffee ☕ (I love to do this too!) or share a motivational story on LinkedIn and get tons of likes and even a few followers, but how many of those liking your content would you actually grab a coffee with? Many of them are NOT your people.

As consultants, for us, it’s not about hitting the million followers mark (though, hey, that’d be cool!). It's about vibing with folks who get you, who nod along with your words, and think, "This is exactly what I need!" 🙌🏾

It’s all about creating a deeper connection.

Think of it this way➡️ Would you rather have a stadium full of distracted fans or a cozy room with a few who hang onto your every word?

Which do you think would eventually result in a future collaboration or business growth?

So next time you share, remember it's not just about casting the widest net but about finding your people. The ones who not only double-tap but genuinely resonate with your message.

Because, trust me, there’s a tribe out there waiting for your unique expertise. And when they find you? That’s where the magic truly happens.✨

Here’s how collateral damage results from the success we’ve had along our educational and early career journey👇🏾

Accomplishments are a good thing.

We’ve been taught that in order to excel in school and establish a successful career, we had to “beef up” our resumes.

That meant… win more awards, receive more honors, get more degrees, apply for more programs, etc.

I’ve definitely approached my career this way and have multiple graduate and professional degrees as a result. I value education, accomplishments and accolades.

It’s true that the pursuit of additional training and the dedication to an educational journey above and beyond your peers can help you stand out and compete.

It allows for external validation of your knowledge, experience, and work ethic.

BUT, it also can cause us to mistakenly believe that the title we receive carries more weight than it actually does.

And as a result, we spend far too much time trying to prove our worth than working towards our vision.

This is something that is more common among women, especially women of color, than men in the entrepreneurial space.

We are constantly questioning and second guessing ourselves by believing that another piece of paper will be the ONE thing we need to make it to the next level.

And what I want us to understand is that more credentials does not equate to more success, if the journey was not designed for genuine growth.

You CANNOT shift someone else’s perspective of your worth. Their belief is not your reality.

And unless you can separate the two, you will continuously spin in a circle that keeps you limited and stagnant while others who are far less qualified and knowledgeable flourish.

You are enough. Period.💯

The vibe was everything!!!

It was like stepping into a space full of God-given talents, relentless ambition, resilience, and triumph. The generosity and kindness that flowed in that room was nothing short of magical - it was more like a family gathering than an event, you know?

Oh, the stories and wisdom exchanged that night... they not only nourished my entrepreneurial spirit but also affirmed that, yes, we can forge our own paths, even when the journey seems daunting. Especially for us as women, especially women of color, determined to break the narrative that surrounds success in the entrepreneurial space.

I just want to shout from the rooftops:
